Pool Opening & Closing Service

When the spring and winter months roll around, make sure your pool is ready. Pool & Spa World offers pool opening and closing services to ensure your pool is ready to swim in spring and ready to hibernate in winter. Our competitively priced swimming pool opening and closing services are tiered allowing you to choose how much or little assistance you need and to stay on budget:

Remove cover and fold up
Remove winter plugs and install hydrostreams
Remove gizmo and install skimmer basket
Install pump plugs and filter cap, pressure gauge and sight glass
Install plugs in heater
Reassemble pool filter
Install SCG Cell/Ionizer in-line
Install ladder(s) and handrail(s)
Prime pump and start-up equipment
Backwash and rinse sand filter
Spot vacuum large clusters of debris from pool
Skim leaves from surface
Brush down pool walls and floor

We recommend 24 hours filtration of water before collecting a water sample. The sample needs to be collected in a sanitary bottle or bag from 18" below the surface, away from any returns or skimmers. Bring your sample in for a complimentary water analysis and consultation. This process proves best for appropriate chemical reading and ensures proper balancing.

We recommend a water sample be brought in one week in advance for a complimentary water analysis and consultation. This allows time for balancing the water and purchasing a winter closing kit that must be added at least 12 hours in advance but no more than 24 hours before scheduled closing date.

A few years ago we were introduced to an amazing product called Dr. Dryden's Activate. It is a filter media that we have been converting our sand filter users over to ever since. With it's capability to filter as small as 4 microns particulate from pool water, it provides cleaner and clearer water. Bacteria can't grow on Activate; so there is no need for seasonal chemical cleaning. It doesn't require periodic changing either, as it is made to last the life of your filter/filter parts.
